Girls Golf JV/Assistant Coach-(SY25-26)

POSITION OVERVIEW:Scituate Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and skilled Girls Golf JV/Assistant Coach.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:Plan and schedule practices and gamesInstructs and demonstrates skill sets and techniques necessary for individual and team achievementTeach and improve student athletes the fundamentals and principles of GolfDevelops appropriate training programs and practice schedulesEnsures the proper cleaning, storage, and maintenance of all Golf/athletic equipment and uniformsAnalyze the strengths and weaknesses of individual athletes and opposing teamsPlan strategies/game plans for each gameProvides direction, encouragement, and motivation to prepare athletes for gamesCall plays and make decisions about strategy and player substitutions during gamesPlan and direct physical conditioning programs that enable athletes to achieve maximum performanceInstruct athletes on proper techniques, game strategies, sportsmanship, and the rules of GolfKeep records of athletes' and opponents' performanceActs as a liaison in relating the Golf program information to the athletics staff, parents and studentsEnsure that medical and safety requirements are adhered toAssigns duties to assistant coaches under his/her supervision; including pre-season and practice sessionsAttends all practices and games and is punctualAttends all training and staff meetings, as neededQUALIFICATIONS:* CPR certified or willingness to obtain certification prior to starting position* Previous coaching experience and participation in a college or high school sports programTERMS: Stipend positionThe Scituate Public Schools have a commitment to maintaining an educational environment and workplace that establishes programs and support mechanisms to recruit and retain staff and ensure appropriate staffing levels that meet the needs of all students through a highly qualified and diverse workforce.
