Over the years, Mitchell 1’s products have evolved to keep pace with the industry and technological advances.We are looking for a System Administrator with expert-level technical expertise in Windows and Linux Server Administration. The System Administrator provides technical leadership and hands-on responsibility for building, managing, maintaining, and optimizing the performance of physical and virtual systems, helps ensure data integrity, availability, and security by performing tasks like installation, configuration, backup management, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and implementing system security measures, while collaborating with application developers and IT operations to support critical business and commercial systemsResponsibilities:Supports projects to maintain the system lifecycleEnsure performance, security, scalability, and availability of enterprise systemsPerform technical troubleshooting to diagnose, isolate, and correct performance, availability, or functional system issuesContributes to system hardware and software lifecycle and capacity planning, implementation, and maintenancePerforms system upgrades and deploymentsImproves, maintains, and executes disaster recovery capabilityCreates and maintains system logging, monitoring, and alertingDocuments system processes, procedures, and maintains asset managementParticipates in on-call rotation, incident response, and is an escalation resourceRequirements:Experience with server infrastructure responsibilities in combination of physical and virtual server installation/maintenance involving Linux, Windows Server, Hyper-V (or other clustered hypervisor experience such as VMware or Nutanix) requiredExperience with highly available redundant solutions, including load-balancing and clustering requiredExperience with Microsoft Active Directory administration preferredExperience with SAN/Storage technologies, such as Dell, PureStorage, and Isilon preferredExperience with Hybrid/Public cloud experience with Azure or AWS preferredExperience in network troubleshooting and packet capture analysis preferredExperience with Backup and Recovery preferredQualificationsB.A. or B.S. in Computer Science, Information Technology, related discipline, or equivalent experience (required)Microsoft and Linux certifications (preferred)Minimum of 3 years, 5 years or more preferred, of system administration experience in a combined Microsoft Windows and Linux environmentThis is a full-time, on-site position based at Mitchell 1’s headquarters in San Diego, operating Monday through Friday.
