Financial Controller

Boston based start-up that focuses on equipment leasing solutions to the Government and for the US commuter rail industry. The PositionSeeking an experienced and strategic leader for newly created role of Financial Controller, (hybrid) based at the company’s corporate headquarters in Boston, Massachusetts. This critical leadership role will be responsible for all accounting functions, and AR and AP management in all financial aspects of the lease business. Hands-on management of the general ledger and financial statements in QuickBooks Online (our current financial system) is required and expected. As the Company’s lease fleet and operations expand, the Financial Controller will be responsible for the management and oversight of additional accounting resources hired at RSS.Principal Responsibilities & Duties:·      All daily accounting functions, including oversight and preparation the Company’s general ledger, bank reconciliations, and all journal entries.·      Management of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, including customer invoicing, payroll and operating expense entry and payment, T&E entries and processing, and submission and management of manufacturer warranty claims.·      Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.·      Support of annual financial audit, working with the Company’s audit firm. Support of annual federal/state tax filings, working with Company’s tax accountant.·      Support of the senior management team and financial sponsor with annual budgeting, forecasting, and cash management. ·      Oversight and implementation of accounting and financial controls and policies.
