This helps utilities and consumers manage energy use, maintain grid stability, and increase the adoption of renewable energy sources such as solar and wind power.About the OpportunityThe Senior Software Engineer, Program is responsible for developing and evolving a critical system that configures and maintains customer programs across multiple product offerings. This role supports the platform’s scalability and user experience modernization efforts. It contributes significantly by designing data and service architectures that enable reliable program configuration, improving operational clarity, and supporting business growth.Responsibilities• Own the design and lead migration to an authoritative source of truth for program configuration.• Lead schema design and data flow architecture collaboratively.• Build and maintain dependable microservices and APIs using contract-driven development.• Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and engineering teams on high-impact projects.• Mentor engineers and promote a technical culture of respect and open communication.Requirements• Minimum 5 years of professional software engineering experience with senior-level responsibilities.• Senior-level proficiency in Java and the Spring ecosystem.• Experience with web services, RESTful APIs, and contract-driven development.• Strong knowledge of testing methodologies and full SDLC best practices.• Effective communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.• Ability to operate autonomously and provide technical vision for scalable solutions.Preferred Qualifications• Experience with data migration to consolidate multiple data sources into a single source of truth.• Familiarity with Domain-Driven Design and decomposing monolithic systems.• Experience with multiple data stores such as MongoDB, Postgres, and Snowflake.• Knowledge of protocol buffers and gRPC.• Frontend development experience with TypeScript and React or willingness to learn.• Experience with configurable software products and energy or virtual power plant domains is a plus.Pay Range and Compensation Package• The pay range and compensation package for this role will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, skills, and other relevant factors.Benefits & Perks• 100% paid medical insurance for employees.• 401(k) plan with employer match.• Paid parental leave.• Education assistance program.• Flexible scheduling.• Casual work environment.• Fully stocked fridge and pantry.• Free bike membership.• Secure bike rack.• Gym subsidy.Equal Opportunity Statement: Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
