Mobile Software Engineer

As a React Native Engineer, you will play a key role in developing high-quality, scalable, and performant mobile applications used by millions of customers globally.You will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, backend engineers, and other mobile developers to deliver intuitive and reliable features across iOS and Android platforms.The starting salary for this position is $110,000 and commensurate with experience.What You'll Do:Design, build, and maintain features in a React Native codebase for the Hertz consumer mobile appWrite clean, maintainable, and well-tested code using modern JavaScript/TypeScriptCollaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new featuresOptimize application performance, responsiveness, and user experienceIntegrate RESTful APIs and third-party servicesEnsure high standards of code quality through code reviews, testing, and best practicesTroubleshoot and resolve production issues and bugsContribute to CI/CD pipelines and release processesStay up to date with emerging mobile technologies and propose improvementsWhat We're Looking For:BA/BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent work experience5 years' relevant work experiencePrevious experience in mobile application development preferred.Proficient with native iOS and/or Android engineering practicesStrong experience building mobile applications with React NativeSolid proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+) and/or TypeScriptExperience integrating APIs and handling asynchronous data flowsFamiliarity with state management libraries (e.g., Redux, or similar)Experience with mobile performance optimization and debugging toolsUnderstanding of mobile app architecture and design patternsExperience with version control systems (e.g., Git)Knowledge of testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, React Native Testing Library)Experience working with native modules (Swift, Kotlin/Java) preferredFamiliarity with mobile CI/CD tools preferredExperience with analytics, monitoring, and crash reporting tools (e.g., Firebase, Amplitude)Knowledge of accessibility and mobile UX best practicesExperience working in agile environmentsAbility to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders across multiple functions and locationsFlexible and adaptable; ability to work effectively in ambiguous situationsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsOwnership mindset with focus on delivering outcomes.Ability to drive process and organizational change.Ability to work under minimal supervision with a goal-oriented mindset.Ability to see the big picture and leverage critical thinking skills.Excellent organization, time management, delegation, and prioritization skills.The Hertz Corporation operates the Hertz, Dollar Car Rental, Thrifty Car Rental brands in approximately 9,700 corporate and franchisee locations throughout North America, Europe, The Caribbean, Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
