We have a vast and ever-evolving portfolio of brands primed to play an important part in everything from modernizing infrastructure around the world to enabling the next generation of electric and autonomous vehicles.Role SummaryQuality Engineer proactively improves internal & external product qualityThis role will help the functions and manufacturing site exceed our customer expectations by designing and deploying processes to mitigate internal & external product riskThis role’s primary focus will be to resolve internal product concernsThis role’s secondary focus will be to resolve external product concernsKey RelationshipsThis role’s secondary focus will be to resolve external product concernsKey ResponsibilitiesExecutes internal & external Quality Notifications (QNs) and Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPA)Participate in the site internal audits to identify and address improvement opportunitiesMaintains QN and CAPA metrics and strives for improvement in systems based on trended dataPerforms root cause analysis utilizing 5 Why, 8D, CAPA, and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA)Drive continuous improvement through communication and training on quality standards, requirements, and best practicesMaintain the appropriate documents and files to align with the site Quality Management System (QMS) and ISO 9001 standardsUtilizes quality tools (process mapping, Failure modes Effects Analysis (FMEA), control plans) to drive quality into processesExecutes sampling procedures and records inspection resultsCompletes detailed documentation and reports of all inspection activities in accordance with Company policy and customer specified requirementsMay direct technical and administrative workers engaged in quality activitiesOther duties as assigned by the Quality Business Unit LeaderQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Quality Assurance, Engineering or Chemistry, or high school degree and equivalent experienceStrong analytical, statistical, and problem-solving skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAble to work efficiently in a team environmentAble to travel (< 10% of total time)Able to work in a manufacturing and laboratory environmentSix Sigma Green Belt certification preferredASQ Certified Quality Engineer, or similar certification preferredExperience in Quality Engineering position preferredExperience in an automotive quality assurance environment is preferredExperience in automotive coatings formulation and/or application is preferredThis is an active opening for which we are recruiting to fill immediately.Axalta operates its business in two segments: Performance Coatings and Mobility Coatings, which serve four end markets, including Refinish, Industrial, Light Vehicle and Commercial Vehicle, across North America, EMEA, Latin America and Asia-Pacific.
