Company Description The Japanese American Service Committee (JASC) empowers individuals of all ages to explore Japanese American history and culture while supporting community well-being through innovative programs and services. As a steward of the Legacy Center Archives and Library in Chicago, JASC preserves and shares materials reflective of Japanese American experiences. The organization fosters community engagement through cultural classes, events, and programs significant to the Japanese American community. JASC also offers valuable services tailored to meet the needs of a diverse multicultural audience, promoting inclusion and cultural appreciation in all its initiatives. Role Description This is a remote internship role for a Social Media Intern at JASC. The intern will assist in managing the organization's social media channels to boost community engagement and brand awareness. Core responsibilities include content creation, daily posting on platforms, engaging with audiences, monitoring analytics, and developing social media campaigns to promote JASC programs and events. The intern will collaborate with staff to ensure the alignment of social media activities with organizational goals, while maintaining the organization's tone and mission. Qualifications Proficiency in social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedInSkills in content creation and video editingFamiliarity with social media analytics tools and experience in tracking performance metricsStrong communication, organizational, and time management skillsAbility to work independently in a remote setting and adhere to deadlinesPassion for Japanese American culture and history is a plusPursuing or holding a degree in Communications, Marketing, Media Studies, or a related discipline is beneficial
