Security Officer

Security OfficerThe Security Officer ensures that the healthcare enterprise remains a safe place. Respond rapidly to security emergencies within the hospital or other healthcare settings while maintaining a professional demeanor at all times. Is responsible for documenting all incidents and requests for assistance within the hospital reporting platform. Observes and reports activities and incidents at an assigned site. Preserves order and acts to enforce regulations and policies when assistance is requested by medical staff/employees. The security officer shall support CommonSpirit Health's strategic plan and the goals and direction of the quality improvement/process improvement activities. It is expected that the security officer will demonstrate behavior consistent with CommonSpirit Health core value and Humankindness. In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following: Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent Six (6) months experience as security officer in a healthcare setting or Law enforcement or military service; or One (1) year experience as a security officer. License/Certifications: BLS-CPR from American Heart Association within 90 days International Association of Healthcare Security Services (IAHSS) Basic course within 90 days of employment. *If at any time facility obtains a company vehicle/golf cart and requires the position to operate a motor vehicle; guard will require AUTO:CA and DRVDMV within 30 days* Minimum Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Familiar with duties and responsibility of being a security officer Able to properly use assigned equipment and follow established policies and procedures Completes ICS 100HCb, 200b, & 700a training courses within 90 days of hire Maintain all other required training/certifications thereafter while employed by CommonSpirit Health Must be able to speak English, communicate clearly orally and in writing Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly) For more than 135 years, St. Mary-Corwin has cared for the people of Pueblo and the surrounding southern Colorado communities.
