Maintenance & Reliability EngineerLocation: Hayward, CASchedule: Monday-Friday (9/80 Schedule)Pay Rate range - $75/hour on W2 - $80/hour on W2Position SummaryWe are seeking a Maintenance & Reliability Engineer to support plant operations by improving equipment reliability, reducing downtime, and supporting capital projects. This role will work closely with maintenance, operations, engineering, and vendor teams to troubleshoot equipment issues, drive reliability improvements, and support project execution within a manufacturing environment.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide technical support for equipment troubleshooting, repairs, and reliability improvements.Lead or participate in root cause failure investigations and implement corrective actions.Develop and optimize preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.Analyze equipment performance, maintenance costs, and reliability metrics to identify improvement opportunities.Support spare parts and MRO management programs.Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to improve equipment availability and plant performance.Support capital projects including equipment installations, upgrades, and process improvement initiatives.Coordinate with vendors and contractors on equipment-related activities.Participate in Management of Change (MOC) processes and reliability initiatives.Serve as a technical resource for rotating and mechanical equipment within the facility.Required QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering.Mechanical Engineering degree strongly preferred.3+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing, chemical, petrochemical, or industrial plant environment.Strong knowledge of rotating equipment, pumps, agitators, motors, and related mechanical systems.Experience troubleshooting equipment failures and supporting reliability improvement efforts.Familiarity with maintenance programs, work order systems, and preventive maintenance processes.Strong communication and problem-solving skills.Preferred QualificationsExperience as a Maintenance Engineer, Reliability Engineer, Plant Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, or Project Engineer.Exposure to capital projects and project management activities.SAP PM or other CMMS experience.Experience with root cause analysis (RCA), reliability engineering, and asset management programs.Chemical manufacturing or process industry experience preferred.Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate will combine hands-on mechanical equipment knowledge with maintenance and reliability engineering experience.
