This role involves supervising personnel, managing quality assurance processes, and supporting efficient laboratory workflow while ensuring patient safety and accurate test results.ResponsibilitiesLaboratory Operations & SupervisionSupervise testing personnel and ensure adherence to performance standardsMonitor quality control, instrument maintenance, and laboratory proceduresEnsure staff are properly trained, competent, and compliant with testing protocolsCoordinate staffing and scheduling to ensure adequate coverageQuality Assurance & ComplianceEnsure compliance with SOPs, regulatory standards, and safety protocolsInitiate corrective actions when test performance deviates from standardsReview and monitor proficiency testing and quality assurance activitiesMaintain documentation for inspections, audits, and regulatory requirementsTesting & Technical OversightPerform and oversee laboratory testing as neededEnsure accuracy and reliability of test results before reportingMonitor instrument calibration, maintenance, and validation processesIdentify and resolve issues impacting test performanceStaff Development & LeadershipTrain, mentor, and evaluate laboratory staffConduct competency assessments and performance reviewsAssist in hiring and onboarding new team membersPromote a collaborative and professional work environmentOperational Efficiency & SafetyManage inventory, supplies, and equipment usageEnsure proper specimen handling and trackingMaintain a safe and compliant laboratory environmentCommunicate effectively across shifts to ensure continuity of operationsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Medical Laboratory Science, or related fieldMinimum 4+ years of clinical laboratory experienceValid New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist License (NYSED)Strong knowledge of laboratory regulations, QA/QC processes, and compliance standardsExperience in supervising or leading laboratory staffPreferred QualificationsCertification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) (ASCP preferred)Prior experience in laboratory leadership or supervisory roleStrong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skillsFor more details reach at Aditi.sharma@navitashealth.com or Call / Text at 516-587-6677.About Navitas Healthcare, LLC: It is a certified WBENC and one of the fastest-growing healthcare staffing firms in the US providing Medical, Clinical and Non-Clinical services to numerous hospitals.
