Job TypeFull-timeDescriptionSHINE Technologies is seeking a Nuclear Material Control and Accounting (MC&A) Manager who will be responsible for developing and implementing an MC&A program for the new SHINE medical isotope production facility, currently under construction. The Nuclear MC&A Manager is responsible for ensuring that all Special Nuclear Material (SNM) used in the first of a kind process is in an authorized location for its appropriate use. Ideal candidates for this position will have a strong background in statistics, chemistry, or nuclear processing.The MC&A Manager will be responsible for developing the program and then implementing it nearly from the ground up. The MC&A Manager is part of the engineering group but will also work closely with licensing, quality, operations, and chemistry staff.The base salary range for this position is $103,500 - $126,500 per year plus a comprehensive compensation package. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.Duties and Responsibilities:Updating and implementing the MC&A program in accordance with the MC&A planManaging any exceptions to standard MC&A practices due to the unique nature of the SHINE systemsEnsuring that records are prepared and maintained of all SNMEnsuring that all SNM items received, shipped, and inventoried are measuredEnsuring the SHINE process can be performed in accordance with the MC&A programWorking with other managers and technical staff to ensure they are cognizant of their MC&A-related responsibilitiesReviewing and concurring on all written procedures that may relate to MC&A activities as well as any revisions to those proceduresAssisting in the development of MC&A training and ensuring that individuals performing MC&A-related functions are trained and qualifiedIdentifying major MC&A measurement systems and measurement points and administering the MC&A measurement control programSupervising the collection of data for the SNM physical inventory and ensuring that the data collected are complete and correct and submitted on timeEnsuring that MC&A reports and notifications required by the NRC are submitted within the required timePreparing MC&A investigation reports of MC&A irregularities and informing all affected groups within the organization of recommended corrective actionsPerforming periodic verification of the facility configuration as it relates to MC&APerforming other duties as requested or assigned RequirementsBachelor's degree in Engineering or science-related fieldA sound knowledge of statistics and measurement uncertainty as it relates to taking inventory of material, especially solutionsExperience in MC&A concepts including knowledge of applicable regulations in 10 CFR 74Ability to understand the SHINE MC&A plan and update the necessary procedures to implement the planPrior experience in performing nuclear MC&A duties preferredAbility to oversee multiple activities in an environment with changing prioritiesAbility to develop and implement performance tests, performance management, self-assessments and validate program complianceUnderstanding of mathematics for the calculation of inventories including arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, and statisticsProject Management and Leadership skillsProficiency with Microsoft OfficeExcellent communication and teamwork skillsWorking Conditions and Physical Effort:Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily.
