Colossal Cave is located in Vail, Arizona, and attracts visitors from around the world who delight in the incredible natural features found only in a cavern experience; stalactites, stalagmites and other extraordinary formations.Retail Associate Summary of Position: Responsible for assisting guests and selling merchandise in a friendly and efficient manner in the Company’s continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service. This position will also be cross trained to lead cave tours.Duties And ResponsibilitiesGreet and acknowledge guest upon arrival; also acknowledge guest upon departureDemonstrate knowledge of merchandise, styling, and pricingMust be able to educate guests about local collectibles and product lines as well as the Park and surrounding areasRespond to guest inquiries and requests in a timely, friendly and efficient mannerAccurately total, process and collect payments from guest to include, but not limited to, using the point of sale system, handling money, processing credit and debit cards, making changeAssist in conducing inventory, restock merchandise and ensure adequate merchandise supply levelsMust be able to keep retail space and register area organized and cleanPrepare end of shift report, deposit receipts and cash handling proceduresActively participate in creating a positive work environment, promoting team workOther duties as requested, as well as those responsibilities detailed in the job duties checklistPosition RequirementsExcellent customer service and people skillsMust be able to work a variety of day, night, weekend, holiday shiftsMust be able to work independently with little or no supervisionStrong communication and interpersonal skills – must be able to read, write and speak EnglishMust be able to meet and/or exceed customer expectationsMajority of shift will be spent on feet in a fast-paced environment, in close proximity to other people and will involve frequent bending, twisting, squatting and lifting up to 25 lbs. frequently and 50 lbs. occasionallyKnowledge And ExperienceEducation: High School Diploma or equivalent requiredExperience: Six months retail experience preferredAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability or protected veteran status.
