Senior Transportation Project Manager - GP0001

Felsburg Holt & Ullevig (FHU) is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Transportation Project Manager to help grow and lead our Sioux Falls office. This role is ideal for a senior leader who brings strong technical expertise, a passion for building client relationships, and a proven ability to win and deliver work. This individual will play a key role in shaping FHU's growth in South Dakota, leading business development efforts, supporting project delivery, and providing leadership to local staff.Business Development & Client LeadershipLead business development efforts in the Sioux Falls region and South Dakota, with a focus on SDDOT and local agency clientsDevelop and execute a regional business development strategy aligned with FHU growth goalsBuild and maintain strong client relationships and actively position FHU for upcoming pursuitsLead or support proposals, interviews, and marketing strategies to secure new workDemonstrate the ability to win work and grow backlogOffice & Team LeadershipProvide day-to-day leadership within the Sioux Falls office, supporting staff development, hiring, and retentionPartner with regional and technical leadership to set direction for growth and staffingMentor and develop staff while fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environmentSupport recruiting and help build a strong local team aligned with FHU cultureProject Management & Technical OversightServe as Project Manager on transportation-related projects, including roadway, traffic, and planning effortsOversee project scope, schedule, budget, and qualityProvide technical guidance and QA/QC oversight on project deliverablesCoordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure successful project deliveryMaintain strong working relationships with SDDOT and support ongoing coordination effortsRequirementsBachelor's degree in civil engineering (master's degree a plus)Professional Engineer (PE) license in South Dakota, or ability to obtain within 6 monthsMinimum 10 years of experience in transportation engineering, traffic, planning, or civil designDemonstrated experience leading teams and managing staffProven success in business development and winning workExperience working with South Dakota DOTStrong communication and relationship-building skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience with MicroStation (InRoads/OpenRoads) or similar design toolsBackground in traffic engineering, transportation planning, or civil/roadway designExperience working with local municipalities in the Sioux Falls regionThe pay for this position has a range of $145,000 - $170,000 annually.
