Structural Engineer & Design Manager - Athens Texas Lead the Design. Engineer the Solution. Shape the Future. We are seeking an experienced *Structural Engineer & Design Manager* to join our growing team. This is a unique opportunity for a licensed engineer who enjoys balancing technical expertise with leadership responsibilities. In this role, you will oversee a team of drafters and designers, review and approve structural plans, provide engineering guidance, and place your professional seal on construction drawings and calculations. What You'll Do Engineering Leadership * Lead, mentor, and manage a team of CAD drafters and designers. * Review drawings, calculations, and technical documents for accuracy and compliance. * Establish drafting and engineering standards, procedures, and best practices. * Coordinate with Sales, Production, Quality, and Operations teams to ensure successful project execution. Structural Engineering * Design and analyze structural systems for residential manufactured home building projects. * Perform structural calculations and engineering evaluations using approved software and industry standards. * Ensure compliance with applicable local, state, and national building codes. * Review and approve construction documents, specifications, and design modifications. * Apply your professional engineering seal to drawings, calculations, and engineering documents where required. Project Management * Oversee multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and quality expectations. * Collaborate with customers, third-party agencies, and regulatory authorities throughout the approval process. * Provide technical support during construction, manufacturing, and installation phases. * Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, efficiency gains, and cost savings. What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related engineering discipline. * Current Professional Engineer (PE) license in the United States. * Ability to stamp and seal structural drawings and engineering documents. * Minimum 5+ years of structural engineering experience. * Previous experience leading, supervising, or mentoring drafting/design teams. * Strong knowledge of residential and commercial building codes. * Experience with structural analysis and engineering software. * Proficiency with AutoCAD and construction drawing review. * Strong communication, leadership, and project management skills. Preferred Qualifications * Experience within modular, manufactured, residential, or light commercial construction. * Multi-state engineering licensure or ability to obtain additional state licenses. * Experience working with third-party reviewing agencies and code compliance organizations. Travel Requirements * Moderate travel required (approximately 10%). * Travel may include visits to manufacturing facilities, project sites, customer meetings, regulatory agencies, and field inspections.
