Job entails following up, implementing, and improving standards while promoting a safe and engaging workplace. Process Engineer in the plant will be responsible for the Process Engineering side of the business/operations, that includes more analysis, study, process troubleshooting and process optimization.Job Responsibilities Work following the Mission, Vision and Values of CEMEX, lead by example.To initiate, develop and implement plant improvement projects.Eliminate equipment restrictionsImplement projects/upgrades to improve KPI performanceCommission EquipmentTo provide expertise and technical knowledge to plant personnel.Identify Training requirements and execute Training programs to reach standard level. Identify gaps on performance versus standards on equipment and personnel, creating actions.Creates instructions, procedures, and standards, and assure compliance of both Root Cause Analysis and TroubleshootingEnsure performance and efficiency of equipment at or above rated operational capacities, minimize operational cost.Perform mass and heat balancesPerform hydraulic calculations in industrial fans/ ductwork and gas handling. Perform equipment diagnosticsValidate plant instrumentation by a routine testing program.PID optimizationSpecific Heat Consumption & Specific Power Consumption OptimizationAlternative Fuel & Fuel performance up to strategyFollow up and improve performance of grinding media and refractory performanceEnvironmental reagent optimization while always complying with environmental limitsTake decisions and accountability to reach objectives.Daily performance follow-upData logPrevious ConclusionsAction Follow upProcess Flow Charts & Equipment information upkeepPI/Seeq Champions/Power UsersAction follow-up of all previously described activities.Safety ResponsibilitiesAdhere and ensure all CEMEX, MSHA, O.S.H.A., and other safety rules and regulations at all times. Wear proper safety equipment while on plant grounds (including but not limited to clothing, hardhat, safety glasses, ear protection, safety shoes, gloves, etc.)Assure all plant personnel (direct and indirect report) work in a safe environment, guarantee all required tools are available to perform a safe task and ensure risk assessments are conducted and follow up on safety hazard identifications and procedures. Ensure people have skills and training needed to perform in a safe and productive manner, be able to train personnel to assure compliance.Assures area assigned is up to safety standards, all deviations are identified and corrected. Participate on safety committees, risk assessment, training, standard work, assist in developing safety programs, monitor plant operations to assist in ensuring safe job performanceParticipate in near miss and accident investigations QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Engineering or related major5 years progressive experience within the heavy industrial manufacturing industryPrevious cement process experience is a plusPrevious continuous process, bulk-material handling operation experience may also be considered beneficialMust possess at least a basic understanding of raw geologic materials (i.e. limestone, clay, sand,iron ore etc.), a basic understanding of their chemical composition, and a familiarity with the crushing, grinding, blending, kiln processing, cooling, and conveyance (i.e. belts, stackers, pneumatics) of those materials Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Chemistry or Chemical preferred) or related major2-5 years progressive experience in cement.Availability at all times to work and resolve issues of assigned area Knowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesCement experience and knowledge in quality, operation and maintenance.Problem solver skillsCreativeAbility and Leadership to manage and develop people, communication, team work and collaboration with different areas.
