In this role, you will ensure cost-effective purchasing while maintaining high standards of quality, reliability, and supplier performance.What You'll Work OnPartner with cross-functional leaders to forecast demand for goods, materials, and servicesDevelop procurement plans, cost estimates, and timelines to support business needsEvaluate, select, and negotiate with suppliers for key contracts and purchasesEstablish purchasing policies, standards, and evaluation tools for supplier selectionAnalyze purchasing trends and identify opportunities for bulk buying and cost savingsMonitor market price trends and new product offerings to optimize spendManage and strengthen relationships with key suppliers, vendors, and subcontractorsEnsure consistent delivery of quality, service, and reliability from suppliersLead, coach, and develop a high-performing purchasing teamOversee team performance, resource allocation, and achievement of targetsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or related fieldProven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain managementExperience negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationshipsStrong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate pricing and market trendsDemonstrated leadership experience managing and developing teamsExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsPreferred QualificationsAdvanced degree (MBA or related field)Experience in strategic sourcing or category managementKnowledge of procurement systems and tools (ERP, sourcing platforms)Certification such as CPSM, CPM, or equivalentExperience driving cost reduction initiatives and process improvementsLearn more about our health and wellness benefits, which provide the security to help you and your family live full lives: www.abbottbenefits.comFollow your career aspirations to Abbott for diverse opportunities with a company that can help you build your future and live your best life.
