Java Backend Engineer

Role Overview We are seeking an experiencedJava Backend Engineerto design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise inJava, Spring Boot, and API development , along with exposure to cloud environments and production deployments. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintainrobust backend services and RESTful APIsusing Java and Spring Boot Design and implementmicroservices-based architecturefollowing industry best practices Participate inend-to-end development lifecycle , including coding, testing, deployment, and production support Handleproduction deploymentsand ensure application stability and performance Collaborate with cross-functional teams including frontend, DevOps, and QA Work withCI/CD pipelinesfor seamless integration and deployment Optimize applications forperformance, scalability, and reliability Technical Skills Required Strong experience inJava backend development Hands-on experience withSpring Boot and REST API development Knowledge ofmicroservices architecture and design patterns Experience withCI/CD toolsand production deployments Familiarity withrelational databases (SQL)and/orNoSQL databases (e.g., Cassandra) Exposure tocloud platforms (AWS preferred, other cloud experience acceptable) Additional Requirements Comfortable with a role split of approximately60% development and 30–40% deployment/production support Strong problem-solving and debugging skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment Nice to Have Experience withAWS services Exposure toNoSQL databases like Cassandra Prior experience working inhigh-scale distributed systems Eligibility Criteria Candidates must belocal or nearby to Wilmington, DE W2 candidates only(No C2C / 1099)
