Senior Data Analyst – Customer & Banking Analytics
Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid)
Duration: 6-Month Contract-to-Hire
Compensation: $50-$53/hr W2
Position Overview
Our client is seeking two Senior Data Analysts to join a rapidly growing Customer Insights & Executive Reporting team within a large banking organization. This team supports Commercial Banking, Wealth Management, and Personal & Business Banking by delivering analytics that help leaders better understand customer growth, acquisition, engagement, and attrition.
This is not a reporting-only role. The ideal candidate will be comfortable taking a business question, determining what data is needed, analyzing large datasets, and translating findings into actionable recommendations for senior leaders.

What You'll Be Doing
Write advanced SQL queries to pull, analyze, and validate data from multiple enterprise data sources
Analyze customer acquisition, retention, engagement, and growth trends across banking portfolios
Build dashboards and reporting solutions using Power BI and other visualization tools
Partner directly with business stakeholders to understand analytical needs and business objectives
Translate business questions into meaningful data-driven insights
Present findings and recommendations to senior managers and directors
Support executive reporting and ad hoc analytical requests
Validate and QA data to ensure accuracy and consistency
Identify trends, opportunities, and risks within large and complex datasets
Required Qualifications
4+ years of experience in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Customer Analytics, or a related field
Banking or Financial Services experience
Advanced SQL skills, including:
Complex joins
Subqueries
Data validation and QA
Working with large datasets
Many-to-many relationships
Experience building dashboards and visualizations using Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools
Strong Microsoft Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and data analysis functions
Experience presenting analytical findings to business stakeholders
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
Preferred Qualifications
Commercial Banking, Wealth Management, Consumer Banking, or Customer Analytics experience
Experience analyzing customer growth, acquisition, engagement, retention, or attrition
Familiarity with Power BI data modeling and DAX
Exposure to Python for analytics or automation
Experience working with datasets containing millions of records
