Project Manager (physical products)

We are seeking a Project Manager who has successfully delivered physical development products projects through to manufacturing.Project management at Smart is a proactive part of our design teams, helping to keep projects running smoothly, anticipating changes or obstacles, and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.This role is both strategic and hands-on: you’ll guide the project process, communicate with vendors as needed, and be a primary point of contact for clients.If you’re excited about helping teams bring meaningful, real-world physical products to life, this role may be a great fit.Key Responsibilities:Work with project teams to develop detailed project plans, including timelines and resources needed for physical product development project workManage logistical communication with clients on assigned projects (with Project Director managing design or content questions)“Emcee” and schedule important client milestone meetings with appropriately documented agenda itemsMaintain updated budget reports and stand-up boards to maintain and ongoing understanding of project status against project planFacilitate scope creep discussions to ensure all projects stay on budget, in partnership with Project DirectorCoordinate resources with project team and Resourcing/HR, inputting project timelines and resources into resourcing softwareDeliver a positive client experience through proactive and clear communicationNaturally you’ll have:3+ years of experience in project managementA minimum of 1 year focused on delivering physical product development projects that have gone through to manufacturingPrior experience in a consulting environment preferredStrong attention to detail managing project logistics, client communication, and budgetsExceptional communication, negotiation, and leadership abilitiesProficiency with project management and communication toolsPlease note, the role is based in Brooklyn and we work on a hybrid schedule, onsite Tuesdays to Thursdays, with flexibility to work remotely Mondays and Fridays.Rates will be determined based on experience but ranging from $70,000-95,000/hour for project manager roles, and up to $120,000 for senior project manager applicants.Direct candidates only; NO THIRD PARTY RECRUITERS PLEASE.We are committed to creating an inclusive culture and are proud to be an equal opportunity employer. At this time, we are unable to sponsor for this position.
