Non-Profit Accounting Manager - Mission Driven Organization - Onsite

Take the next step in your career—this role lets you lead, impact, and grow!ResponsibilitiesLead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow managementPrepare and deliver monthly financial reports and variance analysis for leadership and program teamsSupport month-end and year-end close, including journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliationsMaintain accurate accounting records in accordance with US GAAP and nonprofit fund accounting standardsDevelop and manage grant budgets, monitor expenditures, and ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and grant funding requirements (including Uniform Guidance)Support annual audits, Form 990 filings, and government reporting requirementsMaintain accounting schedules, sub-ledgers, and audit-ready documentationOversee payroll operations, including review of timecards, PTO accruals, benefits schedules, and regulatory compliance; collaborate with HR on payroll-related mattersPartner cross-functionally with program and operational leaders to align financial resources with organizational prioritiesContribute to strategic planning, operational performance tracking, and special projects as neededOptimize workflows and improve internal controls within financial systemsTake ownership of ad hoc projects and priority assignments as directed by leadership.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field5–7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including nonprofit accountingStrong knowledge of US GAAP, month/ year-end close, and financial reportingDemonstrated expertise in grant accounting, government funding oversight, and regulatory complianceProficient in Sage Intacct or comparable ERP platforms, with strong skills in advanced Excel functions and financial analysisTrack record of supporting annual audits and preparing Form 990 filings accurately and efficientlyKnowledge of payroll processes and related regulatory complianceHighly analytical, detail-oriented, and systems-minded with strong internal control awarenessCapable of bridging communications and collaborating with the Fiscal and program teamsCan prioritize and efficiently take on multiple tasks within deadlinesStrong communication skills with the ability to present financial insights to non-finance stakeholdersAbility to manage multiple priorities and work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
