Head Coach - Tennis

Essential ResponsibilitiesProgram Leadership & CoachingServe as the head coach for both men's and women's tennis programsPlan, organize, and conduct practices and competitionsDevelop and implement competitive strategies and comprehensive player development plansBuild and sustain a disciplined, positive, and championship-caliber cultureRecruitingIdentify, evaluate, and recruit student-athletes who align with Wingate University's academic and athletic standardsDevelop and maintain a strong recruiting pipeline at the regional, national, and international levelsEnsure all recruiting activities comply with NCAA and conference regulationsStudent-Athlete DevelopmentPromote academic success, leadership development, and personal growthMonitor academic progress and support retention and graduation goalsServe as a mentor and role model for student-athletesProgram AdministrationManage program budgets, scheduling, travel, and equipmentOrganize and oversee camps, clinics, and fundraising initiativesMaintain accurate records and ensure compliance with all institutional, NCAA, and conference policiesStaff & Facility ManagementHire, supervise, and evaluate assistant coaches (if applicable)Coordinate tennis facility usage, maintenance, and scheduling in collaboration with athletics administrationExternal Engagement & AdvancementRepresent Wingate University and its tennis programs in a professional and positive mannerEngage with alumni, donors, and community stakeholdersSupport fundraising efforts and the mission of the Bulldog ClubQualificationsRequired:Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred)Collegiate coaching experience (head or assistant level)Demonstrated success in recruiting and player developmentStrong organizational, communication, and leadership skillsKnowledge of NCAA rules and commitment to compliancePreferred:Experience coaching both men's and women's tennis programsProven record of competitive successExperience with fundraising and program developmentKey CompetenciesLeadership and culture buildingRelationship development with student-athletes and staffStrategic program planningStrong communication and organizational skillsCommitment to integrity, accountability, and complianceWork Environment & ExpectationsEvening and weekend work requiredTravel required for competition and recruitingActive engagement in campus and community initiatives
