Company Description Boosted Diplomas is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to providing free educational support to at-risk youth in Washoe County, Nevada. Since 2019, the organization has positively impacted the lives of over 320 foster youth and at-risk students in the Reno/Sparks area. Core services include one-on-one tutoring, educational advocacy, mentorship. Boosted Diplomas is committed to empowering youth and helping them achieve academic success and long-term personal growth. Role Description This part-time Tutor role involves working closely with at-risk youth to provide personalized academic support in various subjects. Responsibilities include conducting one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions, creating and implementing effective lesson plans, monitoring academic progress, and fostering a supportive learning environment. Tutors will collaborate with educational advocates and families to help students meet their goals. This is an in person role to support youth where they are. Qualifications Proficiency in tutoring and instruction skills, with expertise in at least one core academic subject such as Math, English, or ScienceStrong organizational and planning skills for developing effective lesson plans and tracking student progressExcellent communication and interpersonal skills to connect with and motivate youthAbility to work collaboratively with students, families, and educational advocatesExperience working with at-risk youth or in educational settings is highly desirableBachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, or a related field is preferred
