Catering Assistant
Position Overview The Catering Assistant works directly alongside the Catering Director to manage all aspects of North Street Press Club's catering business. This is a hands-on role that spans client communication, event planning, logistics, execution, and follow-up. The ideal candidate is organized, personable, and ready to learn every facet of running a catering operation.
Reports To: Catering Director
Key Responsibilities
Assist with client inquiries, quotes, and booking coordination
Help develop event proposals, menus, and timelines
Coordinate logistics including staffing needs, equipment, and delivery schedules
Communicate with kitchen team to ensure seamless event execution
Manage event setup, service, and breakdown—both on-site and off-site
Maintain catering calendars, contracts, and client records
Track inventory of catering supplies, equipment, and smallwares
Support food truck operations and scheduling as needed
Assist with tastings and client meetings
Follow up with clients post-event for feedback and future bookings
Handle administrative tasks including invoicing support, vendor communication, and weekly revenue reports
Qualifications
Must be at least 21 years old
Strong organizational and communication skills
Comfortable multitasking in a fast-paced environment
Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
Ability to lift at least 45+ lbs and work on your feet for extended periods
Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Previous catering, event planning, or food service experience is a plus
Compensation: Competitive hourly rate based on experience

Pay: $12.50 - $20.00 per hour
