Client is looking for resume within 30 miles from 30339 Zip CodeJob DescriptionA System Engineer designs, implements, and manages Windows-based server infrastructure and virtualization technologies (VMware) in on-premises and hybrid cloud environments. They ensure system performance, security, and high availability, managing Active Directory, Group Policies, and server hardware. Typical roles involve scripting, patching, and 3rd-level technical support.Key ResponsibilitiesServer Administration: Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 and manage server roles (DNS, DHCP, IIS).Virtualization & Cloud: Administer VMware vSphere, ESXi, and Azure IaaS (VMs, storage, network).Directory Services: Manage Active Directory (AD), Entra ID, Group Policies (GPO), and authentication.Infrastructure Management: Perform regular server patching, health checks, capacity planning, and system upgrades.Automation & Scripting: Use PowerShell, Python, or Ansible to automate provisioning and tasks.Troubleshooting: Resolve complex infrastructure issues, including hardware and OS failures.Required Technical SkillsStrong experience with Nutanix (AHV, AOS, Prism, Calm is a plus)Hands-on experience with Commvault backup and recovery solutionsOS: Deep knowledge of Windows Server operating systems.Virtualization: VMware vCenter and ESXi.Networking: Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and firewalls.Cloud: Experience with AzureScripting: PowerShell, Bash, or Python.Security: Server hardening, compliance management, and patchingEducation & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience.Typically 5–10 years of experience in system administration.Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, VMware VCP) are often required.
