Agronomy Implementation Specialist

Position SummaryThe Agronomy Implementation Specialist plays a critical role in delivering successful software implementations for SSI agronomy and ag retail clients. This position partners closely with customers and internal teams to plan, execute, and advance the adoption of SSI solutions through effective project management, business process analysis, training, and ongoing consultation. The Implementation Specialist serves as a trusted advisor, ensuring solutions align with client operations, regulatory requirements, and agronomic best practices. This is a full-time salaried position and requires 20-40% travel depending upon project needs.Key ResponsibilitiesProject Management & DocumentationDefine and document project scope, objectives, and deliverables, including process flows and business requirementsDevelop, maintain, and execute detailed implementation, conversion, and rollout plansCoordinate tasks, milestones, and communications across clients, internal teams, and stakeholdersDocument system configuration requirements, enhancements and change requests with accuracy and clarityTraining & AdoptionDesign and execute comprehensive training strategies to ensure successful system adoptionDevelop, maintain, and deliver client-facing training materials and documentationProvide hands-on training and knowledge transfer tailored to client roles and responsibilitiesProduct Expertise & Client SupportMaintain expert knowledge of the SSI product suite through formal training and ongoing self-studyMonitor system updates and enhancements to proactively advise and support clientsServe as a subject matter resource for agronomy workflows, crop production systems, and seasonal operational practicesEnsure implemented solutions support regulatory compliance, sustainability initiatives and reporting requirementsCollaboration & Continuous ImprovementCollaborate closely with internal implementation, product, and support teamsMaintain clear, consistent and timely communication with all stakeholdersParticipate in special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned by managementExperience / Skills RequiredRequired:Strong foundation in crop production systems and seasonal farm operations with the ability to apply knowledge across diverse client environmentsWorking understanding of regulatory compliance, sustainability programs, and agricultural reporting requirementsProven project management experience with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesExcellent verbal and written communication skills.Demonstrated ability to analyze, optimize, and re‑engineer agronomic processes for operational efficiencyCapacity to quickly learn, understand, and effectively train others on SSI’s software solutionsAbility to build relationships and collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholdersPreferred:Experience in ag retail sectors such as energy, grain, agronomy, and/or accountingWorking knowledge of nutrient management, soil health, and crop planningBackground in software implementation, consulting, or customer facing technical rolesAdditional Competencies:Strategic thinker with the ability to align decisions and recommendations to organizational goalsStrong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detailAbility to lead and support change management initiatives and guide users through process improvements
