Operations Supervisor NOTES: This person will be managing around 12 operators a shift.Job DescriptionWe are seeking an Operations Supervisor for our plant in Baltimore, MD.The Operations Supervisor leads a team and ensures the safe and efficient operation of assets, equipment and processes. Ensures leadership and guidance provided to team members is aligned with mission, vision and strategy. Works with assigned team members to ensure timely operations of assets using safe work processes and procedures.The schedule for this role is 12-hour rotating shifts which may include days, nights, holidays and weekends.Schedule: 12-hour, rotating shifts including days and nights, holidays, and weekends.1. Week 1: 4 consecutive night shifts, then 3 days off2. Week 2: 3 regular day shifts, off for 1 day, then 3-night shifts3. Week 3: 3 days off, then 4 consecutive day shiftsThis is a 24/7 365-day Union manufacturing site.ResponsibilitiesSupervises employees in the specialty chemicals manufacturing plantAssures regulatory compliance, including environmental and process safety, and champions a safe workplace for all employees. Address hazards, deviations, and injuries in a timely manner.Directs response to emergency situations to include emergency shutdown procedures.Interfaces with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met.Directs workers in adjusting equipment and processes to correct products which fail to meet quality standards.Coaches, counsels and disciplines employees, addresses complaints and and resolves conflicts.Interprets various sets of data and determines how to resolve/troubleshoot complex equipment/systemsMaintains housekeeping standards by performing requisite audits.Analyzes and resolves production issues to include enforcing labor relation's policies and resolving grievances.Required QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent5+ year’s supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting.Must be able to work 12 hour shift work to include both day and night.Physical Requirements and EnvironmentAbility to follow safety protocols and standards working in a pilot plant facility with highly hazardous materialsAbility to work in a high hazard environment, including adverse weather conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and noisy surroundings.Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft.Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full face respiratorPreferred QualificationsDemonstrated leadership experience directing and motivating employeesDemonstrated experience acting in a safe manner and teaching employees on safety standards.Experience using MS Office at an expert level
