FACILITY TECHNICIAN II - AUSTIN

Facility Technician IIThe Facility Technician II is a journeyman level position that performs general maintenance in the areas of minor construction, dry wall, masonry, roofing, electrical, plumbing, and buildings, grounds and facilities repairs. This position will also perform welding and form repair projects, install or assist with the installation of HVAC systems and assist with training new Facility Technicians. Core responsibilities include: Wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when and where required. Performing general maintenance, as well as buildings, grounds and facilities repairs. Operating various maintenance equipment, including but not limited to: hand, electrical or air tools, pressure washers and lawn maintenance equipment. Immediately reporting safety violations and correcting unsafe acts or conditions. Complying with company safety policies and procedures, including using the lock-out/tag-out system before performing maintenance work. Performing monthly building and HVAC inspections. Performing monthly inspections on fire extinguishers and maintaining the accompanying documentation. Assisting with stocking, unloading and delivering supplies. Assisting with maintaining property security. Documenting repair operations and time-tracking in accordance with company procedures. Maintaining equipment and tools essential to accomplishing daily tasks. Performing general housekeeping and engineering-related duties. Other duties as assigned. Required skills and qualifications include: High school diploma or its equivalent At least three years of relevant experience, or completion of a trade school program Ability to identify problems and implement solutions Demonstrated familiarity with the principles and techniques of plumbing repair, wood finishing, painting, electrical work and carpentry Working knowledge of the operational characteristics of mechanical equipment and tools Working knowledge of lawn maintenance and landscaping procedures Ability to communicate effectively in English Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English Preferred skills and qualifications include: At least two years of general building maintenance experience Course work or other trades training Required licenses and certifications include: Valid Class C driver's license Safe driving record for the last three years
