They prepare women, and their families, for the stages of giving birth and help patients with breastfeeding after the baby is born. In addition to assisting women throughout labor and the birthing process, LD RN' s care for women who experience complications with their pregnancies and assist surgeons during cesarean deliveries. LD RN's can work in a variety of settings such as hospital delivery rooms, physician’s offices, birthing centers, and community clinics.
