The Valor and Unity Crew is a Florida Non-Profit (501(c)(3) pending) organization that focuses on helping United States Military veterans through service, organized events, and volunteering. We are youth-run and focus on showing our men and women of the armed forces that we honor, respect, and support their sacrifices. You can see more information on what we do on our Instagram (@hghsvucrew) and our website (hghsvucrew.com)We are currently hiring a Secretary:The specific duties and responsibilities of the Secretary shall include, but are not limited to, the following:Meeting Notes: Accurately record and maintain detailed minutes of each Executive Board meeting and other official VUC meetings. These minutes should capture key discussions, decisions made, and action items. The Secretary must ensure that these notes are distributed to the relevant parties promptly.Record Keeping: Maintain a comprehensive record of all weekly information reports submitted by officers and other relevant documentation. This includes managing and maintaining the Google Drive and other proprietary information software used by the VUC, ensuring that all records are up-to-date, organized, and securely stored. This task involves regular updates to ensure that information is current and accessible.Organizing Information: Manage and organize all organizational information, including documents, files, and communications. Ensure that all records are up-to-date, accessible, and securely stored.Agenda Preparation: In collaboration with the Vice President of the VUC, the Secretary shall prepare the Executive Board meeting agenda when it is called, including a summary of all items and activities that have occurred up to that point that require review or follow-up. Coordinate with the President and other board members to ensure that all necessary topics are included.External Communications: Act as the primary contact for external organizations regarding booth arrangements and other engagement opportunities. Specifically, reach out to independent veterans, corporations, and other relevant entities to secure their participation and support for VUC events.Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to the Executive Board, including scheduling meetings, managing correspondence, and assisting with any other tasks that support the efficient operation of VUC.Eligibility:Must be over the age of 16Must be a resident of the State of FloridaMust have a profound desire to serve the veteran communityHave strong organization skillsRecommendations:Have 1+ year(s) of experience in leadershipHave experience in note-takingTHIS IS AN UNPAID VOLUNTEER JOB. However, it will cone with community service hours depending on events attended. In total, we ask for 5-8 hours a week and one 1-hour virtual meeting a week.
