Job Description
Position OverviewThe Staff Accountant plays a critical role in supporting the financial integrity and operational visibility of a multi-site manufacturing region. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, strengthening internal controls, and driving process improvements across locations. This role goes beyond traditional accounting. The Staff Accountant will partner closely with site finance teams, operations leadership, and corporate accounting to improve reporting accuracy, streamline processes, and provide meaningful financial insight that supports business decisions. The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting skills with a proactive, systems-oriented mindset and a continuous improvement approach. Key ResponsibilitiesLead month-end close processes for assigned sites, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timelinessPrepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and balance sheet analysesPartner with site teams to improve inventory accounting accuracy, cost tracking, and variance analysisMaintain and strengthen internal controls and compliance with corporate accounting policiesAssist with CapEx tracking, fixed asset accounting, and depreciation schedulesCollaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Customer Service, Sales, and FP&A to improve data integrity and reporting processesSupport external audits and internal audit requestsIdentify and implement process improvements, leveraging ERP and BI toolsContribute to special projects including system enhancements, reporting automation, and integration initiatives QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or BusinessCPA or CMA preferred but not requiredMinimum of 5 years of accounting experience, including direct experience in manufacturing operations.Strong understanding of US GAAP accounting principlesExperience preparing and analyzing general ledger account reconciliationsExperience with intercompany transactions and reconciliation of sameThorough understanding of financial application security ensuring that all financial data is secure and complies with confidentiality policiesMust possess excellent type written, written and verbal communication skillsProven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneouslyExperience using ERP systems, including AP, AR, GL, inventory, payroll and fixed asset modulesExcellent Microsoft Excel skills, including the use of pivot tables, v lookups and other related analytical tools found within ExcelExperience with Microsoft Word, Outlook and PowerPointEstablished skills in accuracy, organization, meeting deadlines and working in a high-volume environmentExperience in label printing, packaging, or manufacturing environments a plusLean or continuous improvement exposure desirableCompany DescriptionResource Label Group, LLC (RLG) is a leading full-service provider of label and packaging solutions with a diverse product offering which includes pressure sensitive labels, shrink sleeves, RFID/NFC technology, sustainable product solutions, scent activation technology, pharmaceutical packaging and fulfillment services.
