The report contains information on security policies as well as crime and fire statistics for the University.Data Collection & AnalysisGather and consolidate course scheduling data across departments, including enrollment figures, room utilization, section timing, and faculty availabilityAnalyze historical scheduling patterns to identify trends, bottlenecks, and underutilized resourcesBuild dashboards or summary reports to visualize scheduling data in a clear, actionable formatEfficiency AssessmentEvaluate current scheduling practices against benchmarks such as seat-fill rates, back-to-back student conflicts, and course sequence alignmentIdentify sections that are chronically over- or under-enrolled and flag opportunities for consolidation or expansionAssess time slot distribution to surface patterns that may limit student access or create advising challengesStakeholder CollaborationWork directly with the Scheduling Department to understand operational constraints and prioritiesCoordinate with Academic Advisors to ensure that any proposed changes are evaluated through the lens of degree pathways and student progressionEngage with Department Chairs or Program Directors as needed to validate findings and discuss recommendationsPresent findings and proposals in both written reports and brief in-person or virtual presentationsRecommendations & Implementation SupportDevelop a prioritized set of scheduling recommendations, each accompanied by supporting data and a risk/benefit assessmentPropose solutions that balance operational efficiency with student-centered outcomes - including access, flexibility, and progression toward degree completionAssist in piloting or modeling proposed changes before broad implementation, using simulation or scenario analysis where appropriateDocumentationMaintain clear documentation of data sources, analytical methods, and findingsProduce a final summary report suitable for presentation to school leadership at the conclusion of the engagementQualificationsCurrently enrolled as a graduate or advanced undergraduate student at Pace University in Data Science, Business Analytics, Information Systems, or a related fieldProficiency in data analysis tools such as Python, R, or Excel (including pivot tables and data visualization)Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to translate data into clear insightsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines
