Kitchen Steward - Full Time
DescriptionPosition SummaryPerforms a variety of routine duties related to cleaning and sanitizing, dishwashing, pot and pan washing. Able to set up equipment, mats and test 3-compartment sinks sanitizer solution and dish machine sanitizer. Replaces dishes and pans in designated locations. Works as a team player with other Culinary and Nutrition staff. Assist with groceries at times. Position AccountabilitiesMaintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, and safety standards. Maintains an attitude of cooperation and teamwork; polite, respectful and courteous. Sets up dish washing area at begin day, and cleans area at end of day ensuring all is stocked and area is clean. Operates dish machine, following procedures, to ensure all dishes, pots and pans are clean, air dried and stored properly. Ensures dish machine chemicals are filled, working properly by testing and documenting sanitizer level at each meal. Notifies supervisor when machine is not operating properly. De-limes dish machine following schedule and documents. Keeps dish washing area clean by sanitizing counters, walls, doors, window, and floor. Assist as needed with putting up groceries, rotating stock, dating items, and cleaning storeroom. Assist as needed with the cleaning of kitchen equipment, walls, floors, and back dock when assigned. Ensures kitchen trash is properly disposed of. Completes all required documents. Participates in educational programs, in-service meetings and other meetings as required. Completes Care Learning within time frame. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. RequirementsMinimum Education - High School Diploma or equivalent Minimum Experience - On-The-Job-Training Required Certification/Registration - Food Handlers Permit issued by the Oklahoma State Health Dept. Preferred Education - High School or equivalent Previous experience in food service
