This position is responsible for the safe operation of CDL Class A commercial vehicles used in environmental remediation, waste transport, industrial cleaning, and spill response, while also performing hands-on field labor when not driving. This role supports both emergency response and scheduled project work and requires flexibility, physical endurance, technical awareness, and a strong commitment to safety. Work is often performed in challenging environments under strict DOT, OSHA, and company safety requirements.Why Work for Miller Environmental Group?Serve in a first responder-like role, mobilizing quickly to environmental emergencies and performing meaningful work that protects people, property, critical infrastructure, and the environment when it matters most.Compensation:Starting pay: $30+/hour, depending on experienceOvertime pay after 8 hours in a day1.5x pay for Saturday work2x pay for Sunday workSignificant overtime opportunities due to emergency response and project demandsBenefits:Medical, dental, and vision coverage beginning the first day of the month following hire401(k) with dollar-for-dollar company match up to 4%15 paid days off annually (increases with tenure) plus 10 paid holidaysCompany-paid life insuranceGrowth & Career Development:Company-paid CDL-related, safety, equipment, and hazmat trainingPaid certifications and CDL renewalsHands-on experience in environmental response, remediation, and industrial servicesAdvancement opportunities into senior driver or leadership rolesLong-term career growth with a company that promotes from withinKey Responsibilities:Driving & Equipment Operation:Operate CDL Class A commercial vehicles safely and in compliance with DOT and company requirementsDrive tractor trailers, tankers, roll-off trucks, vacuum trucks, and other CDL unitsTransport regulated and non-regulated materials between job sites, facilities, and disposal locationsSecure loads and ensure proper labeling and placarding for hazardous materialsSafely maneuver large vehicles in tight or complex jobsite conditions using spotters as requiredPerform and document pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspectionsMaintain required DOT logs (DTR/DDL) and compliance documentationReport accidents, violations, defects, or equipment issues immediatelyTravel to weigh stations as required for load verificationEnvironmental & Industrial Field Work:Assist with environmental cleanup, remediation, spill response, and industrial cleaningSupport emergency response deployments and on-call operationsHandle, package, and transport regulated materials under supervisionAssist in setting up containment and work zonesClean contaminated equipment and work areas using appropriate methods and toolsLoad and unload tools, materials, debris, and equipmentPerform physical labor including digging, shoveling, site preparation, and debris removalSupport vacuum truck operations including hose handling and spottingMaintain basic field documentation such as container counts or material trackingParticipate in daily safety meetings and required trainingReport safety hazards, equipment problems, or unusual site conditionsPerform other duties as assigned based on business needsRequired Qualifications:Must be at least 21 years of ageValid, unrestricted CDL Class A license with acceptable driving recordAbility to safely operate CDL vehicles and complete DOT documentationAbility to lift 40-50 lbs. and perform heavy physical laborAbility to work outdoors in extreme heat, cold, and varying weather conditionsAbility to work in confined spaces, at heights, and on uneven terrainWillingness to get dirtyWillingness to work extended hours, overtime, nights, weekends, holidays, travel (when needed), and be on-call (potentially in the middle of the night)Ability to wear respirators and meet OSHA respiratory protection and facial hair requirementsBasic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skillsStrong reliability, teamwork, and willingness to learn and try new thingsMust pass DOT physical, fit-for-duty physical, drug/alcohol screening, and background checkPreferred Qualifications:Prior CDL driving experience in environmental, industrial, or construction settingsExperience with vacuum trucks, tankers, or roll-off equipmentWork Environment & Physical Demands:Field-based work performed primarily outdoors for 8-12+ hours per dayExposure to noise, traffic, chemicals, uneven terrain, confined spaces, and elevated work areasFrequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, climbing, and operating equipmentRequired use of PPE including coveralls, gloves, eye protection, respirators, air monitors, and protective suitsAbility to wear fully encapsulated Level A PPE with SCBA for extended periods when requiredReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.About Miller Environmental Group:Miller Environmental Group is an environmental services company specializing in emergency response, remediation, and industrial cleaning.
