Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited college in technical disciplines (e.g. engineering field) or equivalent discipline (e.g. math, business, physics, chemistry, etc.). Experience and/or knowledge of manufacturing processes. Ability to interpret engineering drawings and/ or technical specifications. The ability to work an evolving shift schedule that will include weekend and off-shift hours, as required to support program objectives. Orion will transport humans to interplanetary destinations beyond low Earth orbit to the moon, eventually Mars, and return them safely back to Earth.Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a full-time Program Quality Engineer. In this role, you will work as a Quality Engineer supporting the Orion Human Space Flight program at Kennedy Space Center ensuring the manufacturing and testing of all hardware meets quality requirements; Work with the experienced Quality Engineering team to develop, modify, apply, and maintain quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished material products and review and approve of Drawing Problem Reports, Changes Task, Test Procedure reviews, manufacturing work instructions reviews and PO closure activities.Additionally in this role you will be performing the tasks below: Collaborates with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain functions to ensure quality standards are in place across the full product life cycle. Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications. Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction. Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements. Manages overall vehicle subsystem quality, and takes programmatic action in representing the quality function in major review boards, metric reporting, and critical decision-making.Desired Skills Experience in Manufacturing or Quality engineering position. Knowledge of Quality Systems and Processes in production and/or procurement. Ability to develop performance metrics using Microsoft Excel and take appropriate action. Experience with composite structures fabrication and manufacturing. Demonstrated knowledge of non-conformance handling and disposition.
