SQL Developer

Job Title : SQL Developer with Teradata Location : Onsite Must be local to Charlotte, NC Duration : 6+ Month Contract Job Summary: We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented SQL Developer with Teradata expertise to join our team at Charter Communications. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in SQL development, with strong proficiency in Teradata. This role involves developing, optimizing, and managing large datasets to support business intelligence and analytics initiatives. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain complex SQL queries and scripts using Teradata to meet business requirements. Optimize queries for performance, ensuring efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes. Collaborate with business analysts, data architects, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Perform data validation and debugging to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the datasets. Monitor and improve the performance of database systems, including identifying bottlenecks and optimizing database configurations. Develop reports, dashboards, and visualizations as needed to provide business insights. Support data migration and integration projects between Teradata and other data systems. Document technical designs, processes, and procedures for future reference. Required Qualifications: 3-5 years of experience in SQL development with a focus on Teradata. Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions. Strong experience with data modeling, ETL processes, and database performance tuning. Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and Teradata utilities (e.g., BTEQ, FastLoad, FastExport, TPT). Ability to work with large datasets and manage data quality issues. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Experience working in an Agile or fast-paced development environment. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with other database technologies (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server) is a plus. Knowledge of BI and reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is advantageous. Prior experience in the telecommunications or media industry is a plus.
