Fraud Support Analyst

Position: Fraud Support Analyst Location: Any First Mid LocationJob Id: 4511 # of Openings: 1 At First Mid, base salary is one component of our Total Rewards program. Exact compensation is determined by factors such as (but not limited to) education, skills, internal equity, and experience. This position offers additional compensation in the form of discretionary short-term incentives (i.e. bonus, incentives, and/or commission). The Fraud Support Analyst is responsible for following strategies developed to prevent, detect and mitigate fraudulent activity that has a direct impact on the customer and the bank. This position requires both internal and external direct customer contact.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Act on daily fraud alerts produced by the bank's fraud monitoring system as related to account and card fraudConduct fraud case investigations, responding to reports of suspected/confirmed fraudulent activity as well as elder financial exploitationMay serve as primary point of contact for law enforcement and adult protective service agenciesCommunicate recommendations to deposit services management teams related to identified high-risk customer relationshipsPrepare and complete customer reimbursement considerations related to fraud lossProvide phone support to internal bank partners and external customers via fraud call centerPrepare case narratives and Suspicious Activity Reports as necessaryServe as subject matter expert to banking partners, assist with providing fraud education and awareness by utilizing a variety of communication methodsCommit to ongoing training and education of fraud-related activity, trends and mitigation effortsComplete all suggested and required training as assignedOther projects as assignedQualificationsEducation/Experience:Associate's degree preferred1+ year BSA/Fraud experience preferredFinancial institution experience requiredSkills:Strong customer service skills, displaying a proper sense of urgency and accountabilityAdaptability - able to quickly adapt to a changing environmentMultitasking and prioritizationProficiency in Microsoft suite and other PC and automation skillsStrong written and verbal communication skillsHigh degree of integrity and confidentialityHigh degree of professionalism with solid interpersonal skillsProven track record of working well independently as well as in a team environmentAnalytical mindset and high degree of attention to detailSolid critical thinking, decision-making and judgementTotal Rewards:Competitive health, dental & vision coverage with HSA match401(k) with employer match + Employee Stock Purchase PlanGenerous PTO, paid holidays & parental leaveTuition reimbursement & performance-based bonusesVisit our Total Rewards page to see our full list of benefitsFirst Mid Bancshares, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity employer.
