This role ensures these applications are architected to support high-quality patient care, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and long-term scalability. The architect serves as an SAP technical authority, partnering with clinical leaders, operational stakeholders, IT teams, and SAP representatives to design interoperable, secure, and resilient solutions aligned with organizational strategy and SAP best practices.Essential FunctionsDesign and maintain enterprise architecture for SAP and ICIMS modules (e.g., Employee Central, Onboarding, FICO, ICIMS)Define SAP architectural standards, configuration guidelines, and best practices across application teamsEnsure SAP solutions align with enterprise IT architecture, infrastructure, and application roadmapsProvide architectural oversight for SAP upgrades, implementations, optimizations, and new module deploymentsArchitect SAP integrations in collaboration with Integration TeamEnsure compliance with healthcare interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR, CCD, X12, DICOM)Oversee data exchange with external systems including Benefits Administrators, Financial Institutions, and third-party vendorsPartner with interface and integration teams to ensure reliability, scalability, and performanceEnsure SAP application architecture complies with HIPAA, HITECH, CMS, and other regulatory requirementsCollaborate with security teams to enforce SAP security models, access controls, auditing, and identity managementIncorporate data governance, privacy, and availability requirements into Epic solution designServe as a key member of IT Service Review Board and SAP governance forumsProvide technical leadership, mentoring, and architectural guidance to SAP analysts, builders, and technical teamsPartner closely with Financial and HR leadership, operational owners to translate requirements into scalable SAP solutionsAct as a liaison between internal teams and SAP account teamsLead SAP-related modernization initiatives, including cloud-hosted infrastructure, resiliency, and performance optimizationDrive application rationalization and reduction of technical debt within the SAP ecosystemEvaluate SAP and third-party application enhancements and emerging technologiesSupport vendor evaluations and strategic roadmap developmentKnowledge/Skills/Abilities/ExpectationsSAP system architecture and solution designHealthcare interoperability and interface strategyEnterprise architecture and strategic planningStrong communication with clinical, operational, and technical stakeholdersRisk assessment and architectural decision-makingVendor and platform evaluationQualificationsEducationBachelor’s Degree in related field (Required)Licenses/CertificationsNone Specified Upon HireExperience7-9 years healthcare IT experience, with significant focus on Financial, HR, or Payroll Systems (Required)Prior Experience in SAP architecture, module interactions, and operational workflows (Required)Prior Experience designing large-scale environments in complex healthcare organizations (Required)Prior Experience demonstrating strong understanding of integration tools and healthcare interface standards (Required)Prior Experience working within formal IT governance and architecture frameworks (Required)
