CAD/Revit Designer – Civil / GeotechnicalChelmsford, MA (Onsite) | Full-Time | $100,000 – $130,000 base + bonusesEmail your resume to michael@sherwoodsp.comAbout the RoleA well-established geosciences testing and research firm in Chelmsford, MA is looking for an experienced CAD/Revit Designer to join their team onsite. You'll work closely with civil and geotechnical engineers to translate field data, boring logs, and engineering analyses into clear, accurate technical drawings that support a steady pipeline of infrastructure, construction, and site investigation projects across the region.This is a great fit for a designer who enjoys technical depth, takes pride in clean drawings, and wants to be part of a collaborative team where field, lab, and design work come together.What You'll DoProduce detailed 2D and 3D drawings, plans, sections, and details using AutoCAD and RevitDevelop site plans, boring location plans, subsurface profiles, and geotechnical exhibits from field and lab dataCoordinate with project engineers to incorporate redlines, design changes, and client commentsMaintain CAD/Revit standards, templates, and drawing librariesPrepare exhibits and figures for geotechnical reports, proposals, and permitting submittalsSupport QA/QC of drawings and ensure deliverables meet project and client requirementsWhat We're Looking For5+ years of CAD experience in a civil, geotechnical, or related engineering environmentStrong proficiency in AutoCAD (Civil 3D a plus) and RevitBackground or formal education in civil or geotechnical engineering strongly preferredExperience producing geotechnical exhibits (boring logs, soil profiles, site plans) is a major plusSolid understanding of engineering drawing conventions, dimensioning, and drafting standardsAbility to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced consulting environmentStrong attention to detail and clear communication with engineers and project managersNice to HaveFamiliarity with gINT, LogPlot, or similar geotechnical softwareExperience with GIS tools (ArcGIS, QGIS)Knowledge of Massachusetts and New England permitting/site work standardsWhy This RoleCompetitive base salary ($100K–$130K) based on experienceOnsite collaboration with a tight-knit team of engineers and field staffVariety of project types — geotechnical investigations, environmental, materials testing, and infrastructureStable, growing firm with a strong reputation in the Northeast
