Production Supervisor
Job Description:We are seeking a Production Supervisor to lead daily manufacturing operations and technical personnel responsible for rail car production and maintenance. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will serve as the critical link between management objectives and shop floor execution, ensuring production targets, safety standards, and quality expectations are consistently achieved.This opportunity is ideal for a motivated leader with strong technical aptitude who thrives in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment and is passionate about driving operational efficiency, team performance, and continuous improvement.Military experience equivalency may substitute for some requirements.Key Responsibilities:Plan, organize, and direct daily production activities to meet customer delivery schedules and operational goalsCoordinate workflow, staffing, and resources to ensure efficient production executionSupervise clerical and technical personnel on assigned shift, assigning tasks and providing hands-on coaching and supportProvide on-the-job training, mentorship, and performance feedback to team membersMonitor production processes to ensure adherence to safety, quality, and operational standardsEnsure strict compliance with company and customer safety procedures and policiesControl labor hours and staffing levels to minimize overtime and support site budget objectivesIdentify production bottlenecks and implement workflow improvements to increase efficiencyPrepare daily production reports and maintain accurate records of personnel hours and operational progressCommunicate effectively with management, team members, and customer representatives regarding production statusCoordinate vendor activities during assigned shift to ensure work meets warranty obligations and quality standardsMaintain a safe, organized, and productive work environment while promoting continuous improvement initiativesQualifications & RequirementsMinimum of 1 year of supervisory experience in production, manufacturing, quality, or engineering environments, or 3+ years of technical experience with leadership responsibilitiesStrong mechanical aptitude and understanding of manufacturing or industrial processesAbility to read and interpret measurements using both English and Metric systemsStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to lead and motivate teamsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentExperience with manufacturing software such as SAP, ERP systems, or similar platforms preferredProficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel and WordStrong problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skillsAbility to work in an active rail car manufacturing environmentMust be able to climb ladders, work on elevated platforms, and lift or pull up to 40 lbsCommitment to maintaining high safety, quality, and performance standardsEqual Opportunity Statement:USPRO is an equal opportunity employer and will consider all applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran, disability and/or other protected categories.
