Risk Coordinator

Risk Coordinator The Risk Coordinator supports organizational risk management initiatives with a focus on DOT compliance, insurance, and claims administration. This role ensures adherence to safety regulations, manages insurance programs, and coordinates claims to minimize liability exposure while driving continuous improvement. Visterra offers competitive pay commensurate with experience in a similar position. The range for this position is $25-$35 hourly, but actual compensation will vary depending upon new hire experience and qualifications as well as internal equity. Key responsibilities include: Ensuring compliance with DOT standards, including driver qualification files, hours-of-service regulations, and vehicle inspections. Assisting with insurance procurement by gathering exposure data, preparing renewal applications, and managing certificates of insurance. Overseeing claims management from initial incident through resolution, working closely with adjusters and implementing loss control measures. Facilitating incident reporting and root cause analysis, ensuring timely communication to regulatory agencies and insurance carriers. Maintaining risk registers and developing mitigation strategies to reduce operational, financial, and safety risks. Preparing documentation and supporting internal/external audits, safety inspections, and compliance reviews. Generating monthly and quarterly risk reports for leadership, including metrics on claims, compliance, and insurance exposure. Requirements include: Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, Safety Management, or related field (or equivalent experience). 2+ years of experience in risk management, transportation safety, insurance administration, or compliance-related roles. Working knowledge of DOT regulations, FMCSA standards, and transportation safety practices. Experience with insurance procurement, policy renewals, and certificate management. Hands-on experience managing general liability, auto, workers' compensation, and property claims. Proficiency in risk management software, claims systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent communication for cross-functional coordination.
