Position Information Posting Number F00342 Position Title Assistant Professor, Accounting (Tenure Track) Division Academic Affairs Division Department Name Accounting Position Type Faculty Position Overview The Department of Accounting seeks a faculty member to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in accounting and contribute to the academic mission of the College through teaching, advising, scholarship, and service. The successful candidate will deliver courses across the accounting curriculum-including core areas such as financial and managerial accounting as well as upper-level courses such as intermediate accounting, taxation, and auditing-while supporting student learning and professional preparation. Essential Duties Teach courses in Accounting. Advise undergraduate and/or graduate students. Serve on College Committees Engage in required academic activities of scholarship. Participate in College and Departmental activities and committees. Occasional Duties Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Chair of the Accounting Department. Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Ability to teach required courses in the Accounting Program; demonstrated record of teaching experience required. Ability to engage in scholarly and professional activities. Ability to contribute to the curricular, assessment, and advising work of the Department and its programs. Required Qualifications MBA or Master's Degree in Accounting or Taxation as well as CPA (valid license) at time of application minimum qualification; PhD/DBA in Accounting with CPA or JD with CPA preferred. Relevant professional experience in Accounting necessary, management or controller-ship level preferred. Ability to teach core courses in accounting, as well as higher level accounting courses; variety of courses across the current accounting curricula which complement current faculty expertise. Will include financial accounting and management accounting, and encompass but not be limited to intermediate, tax and audit. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with and mentoring a diverse student population. Willingness to adopt a leadership role. Environmental Conditions Teaching/instruction is performed in a traditional classroom setting or online. Position Details FLSA Exempt Full Time / Part Time Full-time Proposed Compensation A Minimum Salary for Terminal Degree: Assistant Professor - $66,569.93 Additional compensation may be added for teaching at the collegiate level or other relevant experience.
