Residential Technician - BHPP ( Swing Shift)
JOB DESCRIPTION: Residential Technician
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Residential Technician / House Manager reports to Residential Director regarding day-to-day activities in the housing facility. Manages the living arrangements, maintains rules, and reports inconsistencies with clients.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Must be able to demonstrate competency regarding the distribution of Assistance in Self-Administration of Medication.
Must display competency regarding the “7 Client Rights for Medication.”
Supervises self-administration of medications and reports and documents any inconsistencies, refusals, documentation of OTC meds, and adverse reactions.
Must display competency regarding proper procedures of UA collection.
Supervise drug testing procedures.
Facilitate groups (specific to BHT only).
Report all client behaviors at the housing location (positive and negative) in shift notes sent via email at the end of the scheduled shift.
Report any MIA or ASA clients, emergency room/urgent care directly to Director on Call during non-business hours.
Report any suicidal/homicidal ideations or self-harm directly to Clinical Director.
Submit weekly sign-in/sign-out sheets for approved non-program off-campus client activities.
Generate progress notes daily for each client in the EHR system.
Ensure all medications and files are locked at all times.
Facilitate transportation of client, when required, as routine daily programming dictates.
Ensure all compliance and requirements are completed daily.
Facilitate and document quarterly fire and emergency disaster drills with staff and clients on all shifts.
Adhere to compliance regulations including, but not limited to, logging temperature checks for refrigerators, freezer, and hot water, ensuring clients are dating and labeling food items in refrigerators, and checking expiration dates on food items in cabinets.
A thorough search of belongings on newly admitted clients.
Complete rounds per company policy on all clients.
Orientate newly admitted clients to the location of emergency evacuation locations and procedures, location and schedule of med distribution, assign and tour a residential apartment and introduce them to the residential rules and introduce new clients to existing clients.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION:
High school diploma, general education degree (GED), or College transcripts.
one to two years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Fingerprint clearance card, TB clearance, 36-month clean driving record, Food handler's Card
Must possess good verbal and written communication skills
Must maintain the highest level of client confidentiality
Must be open-minded, flexible, and willing to take direction
Must work well in a crisis setting and be willing to learn new crisis intervention techniques
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
NOT A LIVE-IN POSITION.
The work environment may include exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
It May involve exposure to and handling of potentially bio-hazardous materials.
Employees with potential access to protected health information must comply with all procedures and guidelines governed by HIPAA.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must have reasonable ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, feel, reach, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk, hear, taste, smell, lift 50 - 60 lbs.
WORK HOURS:
Position may be Full time or Part time, Non-exempt, depending on hiring status
May be required to work any shift within a 24-hour day
Full time will accrue PTO hours each pay period
Part-time will accrue Sick time each hour worked
Completed PTO or Sick Time request form is required to be submitted to the direct supervisor for approval before requested time off
May be required to work holidays and weekends.
May be required to provide coverage for unassigned shifts
