Job DescriptionThe Level 2 Process Systems Engineer is responsible for maintaining, improving, and supporting Level 2 process control systems for the Rolling Mill and Finishing areas. This role focuses on system reliability, process optimization, and implementation of control system improvements to support safe, efficient, and high-quality production.Main Responsibilities / Essential Functions Support and maintain Level 2 and related process control systems to ensure reliable operation. Analyze process performance and implement improvements to optimize production, quality, and system stability. Troubleshoot and resolve system, application, and process issues in support of operations. Lead and support capital and improvement projects related to control systems, including upgrades and obsolescence mitigation. Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to identify issues and implement solutions. Provide technical guidance, training, and documentation for control systems and process applications. Ensure systems, applications, and backups are properly maintained and documented. Support plant operations through on-call or as-needed troubleshooting and problem resolution. RequiredAbout You / Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial process control systems Strong understanding of process control systems and their interaction with manufacturing processes Experience troubleshooting and improving control systems in an industrial environment Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills Ability to work independently and in a team environment Preferred Experience with PLC systems (Allen-Bradley), HMI/SCADA systems, and industrial networking Experience with Level 2 systems, databases, and programming languages (C#, C++, SQL) Knowledge of OPC systems (e.g., Kepware) and data collection systems (e.g., IBA) Experience with AC/DC drives and real-time control systems About UsBecoming part of the SSAB family means joining a journey.
