Medical AssistantJob DescriptionThis Medical Assistant role focuses on providing high-quality clinical and administrative support in a professional medical office setting. You will document patient information in detail, help maintain accurate records, support clinic operations, and contribute to a smooth and positive experience for every patient. Strong communication, teamwork, and a commitment to excellent patient care are essential in this position.ResponsibilitiesDocument patient information thoroughly and accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).Preload and prepare patient charts, ensuring all required information is complete prior to appointments.Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with clinic policies and procedures.Prepare procedure rooms ahead of treatments, ensuring all necessary equipment, supplies, and materials are available and properly set up.Perform allergy testing and related clinical procedures according to established protocols.Perform phlebotomy as needed, including blood draws and specimen handling, in a safe and professional manner.Submit prior authorizations as needed, ensuring all documentation is complete and submitted in a timely manner.Support overall clinic operations, including coordinating patient flow and assisting with scheduling and follow-up as needed.Ensure a smooth patient flow by coordinating with providers and team members, minimizing wait times and improving patient experience.Use medical terminology accurately in both written and verbal communication.Provide courteous and professional customer service to patients, families, and colleagues.Collaborate closely with the clinical and administrative team to maintain a professional office environment.Adhere to clinic policies, safety standards, and infection control procedures at all times.Respond appropriately in emergency situations, utilizing BLS/CPR training when necessary.Essential SkillsExperience performing allergy testing in a clinical setting.Proficiency using electronic medical record (EMR) systems for documentation and chart management.Solid understanding and use of medical terminology in a healthcare environment.Hands-on experience as a Medical Assistant, including both clinical and administrative tasks.Phlebotomy skills, including safe and accurate blood collection and specimen handling.Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification.Strong customer service skills with a focus on patient-centered care.Effective written and verbal communication skills for interacting with patients and team members.Ability to maintain detailed and accurate documentation.High school diploma or equivalent.Minimum of two years of work experience in a medical practice setting.Additional Skills & QualificationsBasic knowledge of CPT and ICD coding for documentation and billing support.Ability to speak and understand additional languages beyond English.Preferably a minimum of two years of experience in an allergy practice or setting with frequent use of phlebotomy.Preferably a current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the applicable working state(s).Work EnvironmentThis is a full-time position based in clinical locations across Missouri and Kansas, with location preferences discussed during the hiring process. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:45 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., with no weekend shifts, supporting a consistent daytime work routine. You will work in a professional medical office and clinic environment that relies on electronic medical record (EMR) systems, allergy testing equipment, and phlebotomy supplies. The role involves direct patient contact and coordination with a multidisciplinary team to support efficient clinic operations and a smooth patient flow. The dress code typically follows standard clinical attire appropriate for a medical setting, including clothing suitable for performing clinical procedures and maintaining a professional appearance.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kansas City, MO.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
