Tax Preparer

Description We are looking for an experienced Tax Preparer to join our team in Flushing, Michigan. This is a long-term contract position where you will play a vital role in assisting individuals with their tax return preparation. The ideal candidate will excel in accuracy, organization, and client communication, ensuring compliance with current tax laws.Responsibilities:- Prepare and review individual income tax returns (Form 1040) using ProSeries software with precision and efficiency.- Collect and organize client tax documents, including W-2s, 1099s, and receipts, to ensure accurate reporting.- Enter and verify information in tax preparation software to comply with applicable tax regulations.- Identify and address missing or incomplete information by collaborating directly with clients.- Maintain confidentiality and safeguard sensitive client and firm data at all times.- Stay updated on changes in tax laws to provide accurate and informed services.- Work collaboratively with team members to meet deadlines during peak tax season.- Assist clients in understanding tax credits and deductions applicable to their individual circumstances.- Ensure high standards of professionalism and client service in every interaction. Requirements - Proven experience in preparing individual tax returns (Form 1040), preferably in a detail-focused environment.- Proficiency in using ProSeries tax preparation software, with recent experience required.- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in handling tax documents and data.- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively under tight deadlines.- Excellent communication skills to interact clearly with clients and team members.- High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework in accounting or tax is preferred.- Familiarity with common tax credits and deductions for individuals.- Prior experience in a tax preparation firm is a plus.Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
