Engineering Field Support Technician
GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION:The Engineering Field Support Technician is responsible for providing expertise in Field installation of Company Products, project specific installation of engineering design, and technical product application support. Engineering Field Support Technician ensures solutions to problems with the products by communicating to help clients, sales representatives, and other design professionals work through technical difficulties.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:Perform Jobsite visits and inspect field system and project specific engineering design for metal roof, wall cladding, and light gauge steel framing systems. Provide technical product and application support to clients, sales representatives, andother design professionals. Perform system research and development, including prototyping, physical testing, andcertifications. Responsible for inspections and reporting of field installation of various products.Provide technical support for corrective work needed in field.Write reports on field installation and warranty qualifications.Provide field dimensions using 3D laser scan and other methods.Assist customers in obtaining correct field measurements.Assist Estimating Department and sales force with project review, takeoffs and pricing for field installation of complicated projectsProvide assistance to our sales force with presentations, webinars, and hands on training on installation of products. Other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:Possession of a High School Diploma and minimum of 3-5 years of field installation supervision or field installation experience in architectural cladding products. Demonstrated aptitude for problem-solving; ability to determine solutions for customers. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. The ability to learn new concepts/procedures quickly. Must be able to work under pressure and on a short deadline. Must be results-oriented and able to work both independently and within a team environment. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite applications and AutoCAD. Must have the ability to learn new concepts and procedures quickly. Must maintain a valid Driver's license to have the ability to operate a motor vehicle and travel domestically and internationally by plane. Frequent overnight travel is required.
