Trains and directs Technicians and Technician Helpers.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESTravel 100% of the time for the duration of a project; dependent upon size of projectInstall cable support systems in new or existing buildingsEstablish cable pathways as prescribed by industry standardsTerminate and test copper voice/data cablesInstall termination blocks, patch panels and station hardwareInstall, terminate, test and troubleshoot fiber optic cableCollaborate with Manager and Customer in project planning and implementationCoordinate and deliver all required materials, equipment, and safety gearPrepare and maintain daily job journals, field change order forms, material inventory forms and all required documentationAssist installation kickoff on-site and development of work and safety plan with crew membersManage location schedules including start time, break time and stop timeTrain and direct Technicians and Technician Helpers on project installs and safety standardsCleanup work site each dayComply with all safety regulationsOther duties as assignedJOB REQUIREMENTSHigh School Diploma or equivalent2+ years experience in the telecommunications industryRequired cable installation certificationsKnowledge of category rated testers, Cat 3, Cat 5, Cat 5e and Cat 6 cable troubleshootingAdvanced knowledge of fiber optic cable requirements, fire stopping and groundingAbility to travel for extended periods of timeAbility to read, analyze and decipher scopes of workAbility to use basic hand tools, punch down, shears and crimp toolsAbility to read floor plansJOB REQUIREMENTS CONTINUEDExcellent oral, written communication skillsEffective interpersonal skillsSkill in directing the implementation of telecommunication projectsAbility to lead people and obtain results through othersAbility to prioritize conflicting demandsAbility to train and direct othersAbility to work effectively with co-workers and customersValid driver's license and clean driving recordAbility to reach with hands and armsAbility to climb or balanceAbility to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawlAbility to see things at close vision, in color and in focusAbility to work in tight/enclosed areasAbility for repetitive motions of wrist, hand, or fingersAbility to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with heavier weight necessary at timesThe worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions and noise.EEOThis job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee incumbent in this position.
