Job DescriptionEvent Attendant-Hudson HolidaysPart Time Non-Exempt$18.00 to $18.50Position SummaryUnder the close supervision of the Event Venue Sales Manager, this position is responsible for ensuring smooth entry and exit into the Hudson Holidays event . You will be responsible for welcoming guests, scanning tickets, providing information about the event and assisting with crowd management. This seasonal position requires exceptional customer service skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment from November 28-January 4th on select days. Shifts would be from 4:00-9:00 PM.Essential DutiesProvides superior customer service and strives to create a positive experience to promote on-going and repeat business. Greet patrons as they enter the facility and process transactions.Respond to public inquiries in a calm, friendly and courteous manner; provide information within the area of assignment; resolve complaints in an efficient and timely manner.Ensure that facility rules and safety standards are followed and assists in emergency situations such as evacuations, medical emergencies, suspicious behavior or activity, etc.Attend a one-time training to learn the scanning process.Attend work on a regular, reliable and punctual basisProvide guest assistance at venue entrances.Use ticket scanners (hand-held devices to validate ticket admission) at venue entrance.Admit guests into the show who present a valid ticket, and deny access or redirect those who do not.Knowledge of the light show's layout and attractions.Maintain orderly linesThis job description should not be construed to imply that these requirements are the exclusive duties of the position. Outdoor working environments can be wet, windy, snowy, and extreme in temperature variations, and loud background noises. This position is subject to continuous interruptions, background noises, flashing lights, and an array of distractions, i.e. music.Physical RequirementsMust be able to stand and walk for extended periods. Upper body strength is a requisite to lift/move up to 25 lbs. unassisted. Vision requirements include: near acuity, far acuity, and depth perception. Must exhibit manual dexterity to manipulate smartphones and ticket readers.
