Coordinator for Learning Center Day Treatment Program
This is a 1.0 FTE certified position as a GLASS Coordinator (Specialist) at The Learning Center for the 2023-2024 school year. The preferred start date for this position is January 3, 2024. In addition to the base salary the candidate will also receive a stipend of $2,720 and additional compensation for extended days. The candidate should be licensed in Mild Interventions and/or Intense Interventions (ED). The GLASS Cooperative is located in Tippecanoe County about one hour north of downtown Indianapolis and two hours south of downtown Chicago along I-65 in west central Indiana. GLASS Coordinator for the Learning Center Day Treatment Program Reports To: GLASS Supervisor Classification: Certified Qualifications: Holds a valid Indiana Special Education License in Mild and/or Emotional Disabilities Master’s Degree in Special Education or Related Field Terms of Employment: Per LSC Master Teacher Contract: 181 School Days + extended contract (Specialist) Evaluation: Per LSC Master Teacher Contract Compensation: LSC Salary Scale + $2,720 + extended days Job Description: The learning center coordinator serves as the specialist of the GLASS Learning Center Day Treatment program and serves as the Public Agency Representative in special education case conferences. This person works directly with staff, families, and students of the Learning Center and coordinates services for all its students. The coordinator oversees classroom management, instructional practices, and progress monitoring. Responsibilities: Trains teachers and staff in goal writing, instructional design, and special education law Reviews case conference paperwork for thoroughness and compliance according to federal and state special education laws Assists in monitoring the implementation of IEPs Assigns and oversees the daily staff schedule Trains staff in de-escalation strategies Maintains certification in crisis management Works as a liason between students’ homeschools and the Learning Center Day Treatment program Coordinates with staff from mental health agencies Promotes and encourages positive involvement of parents in the special education process Stays abreast of current practices and research in education Chairs and participates in staff meetings and trainings Participates in the hiring process of staff of the Learning Center Day Treatment program Participates in wrap-around services Maintains student confidentiality Maintains integrity and safety in all settings Demonstrates professionalism in verbal and written communication and interactions Follows all school policies as stated in the GLASS/LSC handbook Job Types: Full-time, Contract Pay: $44,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year Benefits: 401(k) 403(b) Dental insurance Employee assistance program Flexible spending account Health insurance Health savings account Life insurance Loan forgiveness Paid time off Professional development assistance Retirement plan Vision insurance Schedule: Monday to Friday No weekends Work Location: In person
