Director, Application Engineering

Jasper Group is seeking a technically capable and collaborative leader to guide our Application Engineering team and support the future of manufacturing technology. The Director, Application Engineering will lead software development initiatives, partner with business teams to improve systems and processes, and help drive innovation using both traditional and AI-enabled development tools.Job Description: Technically capable working manager focused on software development and improvement                                                                Supervisory Responsibility: YesJob Duties and Responsibilities: Lead team of developers and business analystsAdvanced troubleshooting of applications and databasesDevelop applications using traditional and AI enabled development toolsPartner with the business to define application requirementsParticipate in overall IT Leadership functionsAssist in Backup/Recovery and Disaster Recovery initiativesAssist in Cybersecurity resilience initiativesParticipate in continuous improvement initiatives in the businessProfessional License/Specialized Training: No special degree other than Industry related certificationsExperience: 5-10 yearsEducation: 2-year degree preferred, but not required. Skills/Competencies: Motivated; Self-starter mentality; Desire to dig in and figure things out; Able to listen and understand the problem first before offering solutions; Good communication skills; Need to be able to build a rapport with others; Patience. Problem solving is a must. Must be proficient in SQL Server and understand ERP and MES systems. Experience within a manufacturing environment is important.Equipment/Programs: Active Directory familiarity, O365, SQL, SSRS, Visual Studio, .NET, Windows Server OS, Azure, OpenAI/Anthropic tools, Docker, ERP, MES
